On September 8, Unification Minister Kim Yung Ho invited families of North Korean defectors to Hana Center in Jeollanam-do (located in Honam Unification Plus(+) Center) to listen to their opinions.
Minister Kim conveyed that he would meet with North Korean defectors face-to-face wherever he visits, listen to their opinions, and make efforts to improve related policies.
The minister said, “I am sure there are many challenges in the provinces. I will work with local governments to find appropriate solutions based on your ideas.”
“We will thoroughly look into the overall support policies for North Korean defectors and prudently refine them so that no one in the blind spots is marginalized,” he added.
Lastly, he said, “In particular, if anyone needs help with their daily lives or has any suggestions about settlement policies, please do not hesitate to provide feedback to the Ministry of Unification through the Hana Center.”
