On Nov. 29, Unification Minister Kwon Young-se visited Panmunjeom to look around the facilities. He held an interview with reporters after explanation of the current status by related officers.

In the interview, Unification Minister Kwon Young-se said that tension on the Korean peninsula was heightened due to successive missile launches and provocation by North Korea. He added that the inter-Korean relation were frozen and he came to Panmunjeom wishing for a little warm breeze.

Unification Minister Kwon Young-se said that inter-Korean relations rushed to infinite tension and the future of Panmunjeom would depend on what we do from now on. He emphasized that North Korea should not distort the Korean government's sincerity for developing inter-Korean relations and peace on the Korean peninsula but respond to our proposals. He expressed his wish to start the discussion on current issues between South and North Korea by meeting directly in Panmunjeom soon.
