On July 6, Minister Kwon Youngse paid a courtesy visit to Ven. Moo-won, President of the Chontae Order of Korean Buddhism, and shared views on the direction of the new administration’s North Korea policy.
Minister Kwon revealed that members of religious groups could greatly help improve inter-Korean relations by opening up inter-Korean exchanges first. He indicated that the Chontae Order of Korean Buddhism might have easier access because of its religious roots in the North.
Ven. Moo-won stated that he will focus on what he can do right now and that he looks forward to the Minister’s role in laying a firm foundation for the North Korea policy.
