On June 28, Minister Kwon Youngse visited the Imjin River basin flood prevention facilities in Yeoncheon-gun Gyeonggi-do, as it enters rainy season. He inspected the facilities and encouraged the officials of the relevant authorities.
After listening to the briefing from the officials, Minister Kwon emphasized that the North should notify the South in advance in case of the Hwanggang Dam discharge to ensure the life and safety of the residents at the border area.
He conveyed condolences to the residents at the border areas who have suffered damage from the floods and also expressed gratitude to those involved in the relevant organizations who are working hard to prevent flood damage.
