1. Unification Education Week to run from May 22 to 28

The Unification Ministry will hold the 11th Unification Education Week from May 22 to 28 with the Ministry of Education. The opening ceremony is being held at the National Institute for Unification Education from 10 A.M., unveiling President Yoon’s handwriting of “liberty, peace, and unification.”

Unification Minister Kwon Youngse is participating to the ceremony, and he will deliver a lecture on unification at Ewha Womans University on May 25.

 

2. Ministry to hold the 12th Korea-Germany Unification Advisory Committee

The Unification Ministry and the Office of the Federal Chancellor of Germany will hold the 12th Korea-Germany Unification Advisory Committee from May 22 to 23 in Berlin, Germany. The meeting will discuss diverse agenda including integration policy for pre and post-unification, the Basic Treaty(1972) and the ROK Government’s unification policy, and status of informal and non-governmental contacts.

The Committee will be co-chaired by Minister of State to the Federal Chancellor Carsten Schneider and Vice Unification Minister Kim Ki Woong, and participated by various experts with experiences related to unification from Germany and Korea.

 

3. Ministry to hold cultural event on unification from Many 26 to 27

In efforts to expand unification culture and to better communicate with the people on unification, the Ministry will hold a cultural event on unification from May 26 to 27 in Gwanghwamun Square.

Minister Kwon Youngse will attend the opening ceremony and medal events to award the winners of programs held during this cultural event.

4. Other schedules

On May 22, Minister Kwon will deliver a lecture at a CEO program of the Seoul National University.

On May 23, Minister Kwon will attend an event to hold dialogue with younger generations to listen to their opinions on the Ministry’s New Future Initiative on Unification.

On May 24, Minister Kwon will attend a plenary session of the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs & Unification Committee.
