This video is aligned with the Korean Middle School Social Studies 2 curriculum. It is a short web drama that explores “The Importance of Peace on the Korean Peninsula and the Future of a Unified Korea,” a topic from Unit 11, The Northern Region.

In the story, a new student from North Korea joins the school. Lee Hye-ri from South Korea and Ri Hye-ri from North Korea share the same name, but they have lived very different lives. Through their friendship, the students think about what “peace” and “unification” mean—and imagine what kind of future a unified Korea could create for everyone on the Korean Peninsula.
